• Hire Resolve's client is seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Retail Visual Merchandiser to elevate the shopping experience across its premium retail stores located in South Africa's busiest tourism and travel destinations.
• The stores offer an exclusive collection of African art, African-inspired fashion, jewellery, accessories, gifts, curios, and homeware, catering to both local and international travellers. This role is ideal for a highly creative individual with a strong commercial mindset who can transform retail spaces into engaging shopping environments that inspire customers, strengthen brand identity, and increase sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement visually engaging merchandising displays that reflect the brand identity and product offering.
• Create impactful window displays and promotional installations that attract customers and drive store traffic.
• Merchandise African art, fashion, accessories, gifts, curios, and home décor to maximise product visibility and sales.
• Refresh and rotate displays regularly to maintain an inspiring retail environment.
• Ensure consistent visual merchandising standards across multiple store locations.
• Collaborate with store management on seasonal campaigns, promotional events, and new product launches.
• Analyse customer shopping behaviour and store layouts to optimise product placement.
• Maintain commercially effective displays while delivering exceptional visual presentation.
• Recommend and source suitable display fixtures, props, and merchandising materials.
• Ensure all merchandising aligns with brand guidelines and enhances the overall customer experience.
• Travel between stores as required to maintain merchandising standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Retail Visual Merchandiser.
• Proven track record of creating retail displays that increase customer engagement and sales performance.
• Experience merchandising within premium or luxury retail environments.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating previous visual merchandising projects.
• Excellent understanding of visual merchandising principles, including colour, composition, lighting, spatial planning, and product presentation.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate sales objectives into effective visual displays.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work on a freelance basis across multiple retail locations.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
