Key Skills and Requirements
- Completed Matric or N3
- Trade Tested Forklift Technician or Diesel Mechanic
- 3+ years post trade work experience with proven experience working on forklifts and/or earthmoving equipment
- Valid code 08 drivers' license - code 10 preferred
- Valid forklift license - highly advantageous
- Knowledge of electronics and electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret wiring circuit diagrams
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to work on standby and attend to after-hours breakdowns
Duties and Responsibilitie
- Attend to breakdowns, including after-hours call outs and standby duties
- Service, repair and maintain electrical, gas and diesel-powered equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Assisting with duties outside of the technical scope when required to ensure smooth fleet operations
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
