A busy warehouse operation in Nelspruit is looking for a qualified Forklift Operator who can move stock safely, efficiently and with care. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that good forklift operation is about more than driving — equipment checks, safe handling and sound judgement matter too. Duties & Responsibilities
The role combines forklift operation with general warehouse support, including loading, offloading, stock movement and stocktakes.
Duties / Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely while protecting people, stock, buildings and equipment.
- Complete pre-shift equipment checks and required inspection records.
- Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication and basic preventative maintenance.
- Assess tasks and risks before moving stock.
- Load and offload goods from vehicles.
- Move pallets, crates and other stock around the warehouse.
- Stack goods correctly and make sure loads are secure.
- Follow warehouse, safety, HR and environmental procedures.
- Use the correct PPE for each task.
- Support packing, pulling stock and stocktakes when not operating the forklift.
- Report discrepancies and work closely with supervisors and warehouse colleagues.
Requirements
- Valid, unexpired Forklift Operator's Licence or Certificate.
- 1–2 years' forklift operating experience in a warehouse environment.
- Good understanding of safe forklift operation and equipment checks.
- Computer literacy and MS Office skills would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical problem-solving approach.
Other Requirements
- No criminal record.
- No previous dismissals.
- Previous employment will be verified.
- Willingness to complete a polygraph and drug screening.
Education
- National Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
