Forklift Drivers Needed for TEMBISA

Introduction

A forklift driver operates industrial machinery to safely load, unload, stack, and transport materials within a warehouse or industrial site. Key duties include conducting pre-shift equipment inspections, securing heavy loads, and maintaining inventory logs. They are also expected to strictly adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols.

This is for a 2 week project in Centurion

Duties & Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to move goods around the facility.

• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload inbound/outbound freight from trucks and shipping containers.

• Order Fulfillment: Prepare and secure orders for delivery by wrapping, packing, and labeling shipments correctly.

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily checks (brakes, hydraulics, steering) and report mechanical faults to supervisors.

• Inventory Control: Track and document material movements, often using Radio Frequency (RF) scanners or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a hazard-free work environment, follow traffic regulations in the warehouse, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Certification: Valid, up-to-date forklift operator license and certification.

• Experience: Typically 1 to 3 years of proven experience operating heavy machinery in a logistics or warehouse setting.

• Physical Fitness: Capable of sitting, standing, lifting heavy loads (often up to 25 kg), and remaining focused during fast-paced shifts.

• Licenses (Local Context): In South Africa, employers frequently require a valid Code 10 Driver's License and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) alongside the forklift certification.
