We are seeking a safety-conscious, efficient Forklift Driver to support our stockroom and sales floor operations. The ideal candidate will safely operate heavy machinery to unload delivery trucks, transport bulk merchandise to storage zones, and replenish high-level sales floor racking while maintaining a secure environment for both staff and shoppers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate machinery safely including reach trucks, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks within tight retail spaces.
- Unload incoming stock from delivery vehicles and transport it securely to designated warehouse zones.
- Replenish sales floor racking by moving heavy or bulk merchandise from the stockroom during non-peak hours.
- Verify load stability before moving pallets to prevent inventory damage or workplace accidents.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment, logging battery levels, fluid checks, and mechanical issues.
- Organize warehouse layout to maximize storage capacity and ensure fast-moving items are easily accessible.
- Assist receiving teams with sorting goods, scanning barcodes, and disposing of packing materials.
- Enforce safety zones by using spotters and safety cones when operating machinery near public shopping areas.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Valid, accredited forklift operator licence and certification.
- Proven experience driving forklifts or reach trucks in a fast-paced retail or warehouse setting.
- Deep understanding of workplace safety regulations and hazard identification.
- Strong physical energy to lift up to 25 kg and stand or drive for long intervals.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional retail hours, including early mornings, night shifts, and weekends
