To operate a Forklift to load and unload stock and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas. Generally picking packing and housekeeping when forklift is done.
Qualifications/Attributes/Competencies and Experience
- Matric or Grade12
- Valid Forklift Driver License (Essential)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Forklift Driver
- Experience in the warehouse industry will be advantageous
- Delivering Results & Meeting Customer Expectations
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
- Communication skills – verbal and written
- Health and Safety regulations
- Problem Solving
- Attention to detail
Duties
- To safely drive the forklift to move merchandise in the warehouse area.
- To ensure that all products are stored in the correct place in the warehouse.
- To load and offload stock from supplier and customer trucks.
- Weekly inspection of the forklift for any damages and complete the weekly check list
- Wash and clean the forklift weekly.
- Any damages to be reported to the warehouse manager immediately.
- Forklift to remain in warehouse when not in use.
- Keys to be removed from the forklift and locked away at close of business.
- To follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive working practices.
- To report on faulty or damaged equipment by performing troubleshooting breakdowns, preventive maintenance, recommending repairs and performing routine pre and post inspections to always ensure safety.
- Perform any ad hoc tasks as requested by management.
