Foreman l Supervisor: General Services & Road Maintenance (Opencast Mining)

Introduction

Our mining client based near Rustenburg is seeking the services of a Foreman for their General Services and Road Maintenance on their Opencast operation.

This role is ideal for a practical individual with strong technical skills who thrives in a site-based environment and leads by example

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate site services and general maintenance activities

• Ensure the effective operation of site infrastructure, including pumps, pipelines, and related systems

• Conduct routine inspections, including pump checks, diesel dips, and general equipment condition monitoring

• Maintain site standards by ensuring proper signage, boards, and safety controls are in place

• Identify and address issues such as pipe leaks, road crossings, and service line integrity

• Supervise and manage general workers , ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards

• Assist with hands-on maintenance and repairs as required

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Recognised Trade Qualification (Electrical / Millwright or similar) – essential

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry, preferably within an opencast environment

• Strong practical and technical ability with a hands-on approach

• Proven experience in supervising teams, particularly general workers

• Good understanding of mining safety standards and procedures

• Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively
