- Matric.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Food Safety, Quality Management or a related field.
- SAMTRAC and/or NatSam certification.
- Recognised Internal or Lead Auditor certification in ISO 45001 and FSSC 22000.
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 and applicable regulations.
- Practical knowledge of ISO 45001, FSSC 22000, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP requirements.
- Proven experience in certification maintenance, audit coordination, incident investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective-action management.
- Minimum 3 years' feed manufacturing experience.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Strong report-writing and presentation skills.
- Experience facilitating training and awareness sessions.
Duties and Responsibilities will include
- Develop, implement and maintain environmental, health, safety and quality systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and occupational health and safety legislation.
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments and identify areas of risk.
- Manage pollution control, waste management, recycling and resource-utilisation initiatives.
- Ensure company policies, procedures and SOPs are maintained and implemented.
- Monitor product quality and compliance through regular site inspections.
- Manage customer complaint processes.
- Coordinate and participate in external certification, customer and regulatory audits.
- Maintain readiness for ISO 45001 and FSSC 22000 audits.
- Maintain and monitor HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, food defence, food fraud, traceability and mock recall programmes.
- Oversee plant biosecurity and Salmonella protocols.
- Maintain legal appointments, registers, statutory inspections, risk assessments and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct and coordinate SHEQ training and awareness programmes.
- Identify training needs and promote a strong safety and compliance culture.
- Maintain effective document control and ensure SHEQ records remain current.
- Compile SHEQ reports, analyse system performance and monitor compliance.
- Escalate critical legal, safety, environmental or food-safety risks and ensure corrective actions are closed out.
