Location: Newlands, Durban (Close to Nandi Drive)
Position Type: Full-Time / Operational Shifts
Salary: Starting from R8,500 per month (Negotiable based on experience)
Benefits: Company vehicle/bakkie transport provided (location dependent)
About the Role
RSV Coaches is seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Fleet Operations Supervisor to oversee daily depot operations, vehicle availability, driver dispatch, and general workforce management at our main base in Newlands, Durban.
Key Responsibilities
* Fleet & Depot Management
* Perform pre- and post-trip bus inspections.
* Oversee spare parts purchasing, inventory control, and stocktakes.
* Set up, organize, and maintain depot facilities.
* Supervise general workers responsible for bus washing and depot cleanliness.
* Dispatch & Emergency Mobilisation
* Dispatch and receive long-haul/bulk drivers.
* Stand ready for flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and after-hours emergency call-outs to mobilize buses as required.
* Reporting & Administration
* Provide daily and weekly operational updates to senior management.
* Attend team meetings, take minutes, and present operational feedback.
* Safely handle cash receipts from clients with high integrity and accurate reporting.
* Travel when required for operational support.
* Strategic Operations
* Contribute operational insight and data to support company strategy and workflow reviews.
* Promote a productive, positive, and accountable work environment aligned with organizational values.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Experience: Proven track record in Linehaul, Bulk Transport, Logistics, or Passenger Transportation is important.
* Education: A relevant qualification in Transport Management or Logistics is an advantage.
* Licensing: Valid Driver’s License required.
* Personal Attributes
* High level of honesty, integrity, and sober habits.
* Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and report-writing skills.
* High flexibility to respond to operational emergencies at unexpected times.
> Location Note: Candidates residing in Newlands, Durban, or nearby areas (e.g., surrounding Nandi Drive) will be preferred.
