- Nurture Health is seeking a passionate and patient-centred Speech Therapist to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team from October to December 2026. Reporting to the Therapy Manager, you will help patients regain communication and safe swallowing, enabling improved independence and quality of life through evidence-based rehabilitation interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess communication, swallowing, cognitive-linguistic, and functional abilities; develop and implement individualised therapy plans for outpatients.
- Deliver interventions for communication and feeding, prescribe augmentative and alternative communication AAC solutions, and provide caregiver education and training.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, maintain accurate records and billing, support discharge planning, and contribute to patient-centred decision-making.
Requirements
- Registered with the HPCSA Board for Speech, Language and Hearing Professions in the category Independent Practice Speech Therapist, with experience in physical rehabilitation settings.
- Strong expertise in dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive and motor speech rehabilitation, tracheostomy management, AAC, and caregiver education.
- Passionate about rehabilitation, committed to ethical practice and continuous learning, and demonstrates accountability, empathy, teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism.
