Fitter / Wheel Alignment Trainee

Introduction

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our retail workshop teams as Fitters and Wheel Alignment Trainees/Technicians. These are excellent opportunities for people who are either experienced in tyre fitting or wheel alignment. You will deliver high-quality technical service and excellent customer care in a busy automotive retail environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Strip, fit, balance and repair tyres and wheels accurately and efficiently.

• Perform puncture repairs and identify tyre defects and wear patterns.

• Test and fit batteries and related automotive products.

• Maintain workshop machines, equipment and tools in good working order.

• Strictly follow all standard operating procedures, torque policies and safety standards.

• Prepare vehicles for wheel alignment through thorough pre-checks (tyres, ride height, suspension, steering components, etc.).

• Operate (or learn to operate) wheel alignment equipment correctly and obtain accurate readings.

• Interpret alignment reports and carry out precise adjustments.

• Road-test vehicles after alignment work to verify results.

• Maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards in the workshop.

• Provide friendly and professional customer service.

• Support the identification of additional sales opportunities.

• Work closely with the sales and management team.

• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 (Matric).

• Valid driver’s licence (compulsory).

• Certified & accredited Fitter qualification and proven experience in tyre fitting, balancing and puncture repairs.

• Previous workshop or tyre experience is advantageous; full training will be provided for the right candidates.

• High attention to detail, accuracy and quality of work.

• Good customer service skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.

• Reliable, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

• Willingness to learn and to work overtime or weekends when required.
