We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter and Turner to join our team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manufacture new hydraulic cylinder components.
- Recondition hydraulic cylinders and machine replacement parts.
- Machine shafts, bushes, glands, pistons, and other precision-engineered components.
- Inspect finished components to ensure they meet specification.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Assist with general engineering and workshop duties as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Proven experience operating manual centre lathes.
- Previous experience machining hydraulic cylinders, shafts, pistons, glands, bushes, and related hydraulic components.
- Ability to work accurately from engineering drawings and dimensions.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, verniers, and dial indicators.
- Experience with metric threads, internal and external threading, boring, turning, facing, and general precision machining.
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and produce high-quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
