Job Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Building Services
- Fire protection and fire engineering design experience
- Understanding of SANS regulations and fire codes
- Ability to work on commercial, healthcare and industrial projects
Duties
- Design fire detection, alarm, sprinkler and hydrant systems for buildings.
- Develop fire engineering reports and compliance documentation.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems.
- Coordinate fire system layouts with mechanical, electrical and architectural disciplines.
- Perform site inspections and monitor installation quality during construction phases.
- Review building plans and identify fire life safety risks.
- Assist with authority submissions and approval processes.
- Develop smoke ventilation and evacuation strategies for complex facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices.
- Support clients with fire risk assessments and safety improvement initiatives.
