Our client in the logistics sector is seeking a Finops Manager to be responsible for the management of the Finops department including the processing and allocation of orders, checking and review of information.
Must have stock management and excel experience. Import Export experience as well.
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Operations Control and Oversight
- Lead the execution of the regional Finops plan and ensure alignment to operational and client-specific requirements
- Oversee the accurate application of financial operating frameworks and adherence to standard operating procedures
- Review and approve all project files submitted by supervisors and controllers to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Oversee and manage the timely and accurate update of all financial templates, forms, and documentation on internal systems
- Monitor alignment between stock and project figures on the FinOps Schedule and escalate discrepancies
- Drive improvements in financial accuracy, timeliness, and operational efficiency.
Documentation Governance and File Management
- Manage the lifecycle of project files, from initiation to closure, including digital and hard-copy filing
- Review and sign off consolidated regional documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Provide a first-level assurance check before submission to the Regional Manager
- Compile accurate client project summary reports, ensuring they reflect full financial and operational data.
- Audit all digital project files throughout the project
Operations Compliance and Client Support
- Facilitate the end-to-end operational compliance process, including slab inspections, handling instructions, CIG coordination, and daily updates to customers
- Maintain strong communication with customers through WhatsApp groups and other platforms
- Communicate and monitor all handling and quality requirements to meet client expectations
Stock Management and Reconciliation
- Oversee accurate daily stock reporting using mine, weighbridge, and port reports
- Validate stock levels on WMS and stock reports, investigating anomalies and reporting them
- Maintain and update moisture data and outstanding load comments
- Manage the reconciliation of static and dynamic stock figures, escalating unresolved discrepancies.
Customer Financial Reporting and Relations
- Oversee the generation of daily, weekly, and month-end reports, including internal and external communications
- Ensure client-facing documentation such as stock certificates, moisture reports, and invoice summaries are prepared and submitted on time
- Vet all invoices and supporting documentation prior to submission
- Resolve client queries regarding stock, documentation, or invoice discrepancies professionally and timeously
Revenue Management and Invoicing
- Manage accurate invoicing by overseeing adherence to SOPs and revenue frameworks
- Ensure all invoice documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule
- Review and approve invoicing schedules, credit notes, and NetSuite-generated invoices
- Maintain the invoicing tracker and ensure seamless linkage between invoicing, stock reports, and order confirmations
People Management
- Provide clear direction and decisive leadership to direct reports, ensuring all are aligned to the goals and have a clear purpose
- Set clearly defined performance standards / targets for direct reports, holding them accountable to achieve these and providing support and guidance where needed
- Ensure direct reports adhere to set business policies and procedures, emphasizing the importance of general discipline at work and objectively correcting and handling any deviations as they arise
- Resource and staff the team appropriately, considering the relevance of current and new jobs as well as the most suitable ways in which to place or replace any vacancies
- Set the example to the team and deliver on the employee value proposition by leading the team and the business in line with the Leadership Behaviours
- Support and encourage direct reports to drive their own individual development plans in order to further grow as professionals in their jobs
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum - NQF Level 6 – Diploma in Fi nance
Minimum - 3 Years’ experience in a Finops Manager position in a similar industry
