Job Description
- An established and growing organization is seeking an experienced Financial Manager in Kuruman to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Chartered Accountant looking to take ownership of the full financial function within a dynamic business environment.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, managing audits, and providing valuable financial insights to support business growth and sustainability. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum requirements
- Matric qualification
- BCom Accounting or Internal Auditing Degree
- Chartered Accountant CASA
- Completed Audit Articles
- Minimum of 5 years' post-articles experience
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Office advanced, Sage and Xero
- Strong experience with both internal and external audits
- Previous managerial or leadership experience
- Sound technical accounting knowledge
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport

Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the full financial function of the organization
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Ensure compliance with financial legislation, company policies, and accounting standards
- Manage and coordinate internal and external audit processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective financial controls and procedures
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor and manage company cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency
- Prepare and present financial reports, analyses, and recommendations to the Directors
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting
- Manage statutory submissions and ensure compliance with all tax obligations
- Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency
- Lead, mentor, and support finance-related staff and promote high-performance standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department and related business processes
- Utilize financial software systems, including Sage, Xero, and advanced Microsoft Office applications, to ensure efficient financial management and reporting
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all financial and business information
- Collaborate with management to support strategic decision-making and business growth objectives
