Job Description

  • A well-established organisation in the logistics and supply chain sector, based in Midrand, Gauteng , is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager: Accounts Payable to take ownership of its centralised Accounts Payable function within a Finance Shared Services environment
  • The role will oversee high-volume AP operations across multiple business units, ensuring strong financial controls, service delivery, compliance and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline .
  • 7-10 years' experience in Accounts Payable or Finance Operations.
  • 3-5 years' management experience , preferably within a Shared Services environment.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume, centralised finance operations .
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, financial controls and governance.
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system such as Oracle, Dynamics or Sage.
  • Strong Excel skills; Power BI experience advantageous.
  • Good understanding of VAT, taxation and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience driving process improvement, automation or finance transformation .
  • Strong leadership, analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable function across multiple business units.
  • Oversee high-volume invoice processing, reconciliations and supplier payments.
  • Ensure adherence to financial controls, policies, approval processes and SLAs.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team.
  • Manage team performance, productivity, capacity and resource planning.
  • Act as the escalation point for supplier and internal stakeholder queries.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Procurement and operational teams.
  • Monitor AP performance, ageing, outstanding balances and service levels.
  • Drive process standardisation, automation and continuous improvement .
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and minimise errors.
  • Support audits, month-end and year-end activities.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, taxation and relevant financial requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A hands-on and commercially minded finance leader with strong Accounts Payable and Shared Services experience , who can lead a high-volume operation while driving improved controls, efficiencies, automation and service delivery
