Financial Controller

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, ensuring the integrity of reporting, strengthening governance frameworks, and providing financial insight that supports business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

• Lead and oversee the full finance function across multiple entities within the group.
• Drive month-end and year-end reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.
• Review and approve journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial reports and management accounts.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial information.

Treasury, Compliance & Governance

• Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, and working capital optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, income tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Manage annual audit processes and coordinate the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks across the business.
• Monitor financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Budgeting & Strategic Planning

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Develop board packs, shareholder reports, and executive-level financial presentations.
• Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Partner with senior leadership on growth initiatives, investment decisions, and business performance improvement.

Process Improvement & Financial Controls

• Develop, implement, and enhance finance policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial governance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems.
• Strengthen risk management and compliance practices throughout the organisation.
