- Power Fashion has an exciting career opportunity available within our Power Fashion Finance department for a Financial Accountant. If you are an ambitious, meticulous individual who is looking for a role that will allow you to grow and learn within the Finance function, then this is the role for you.
Purpose
- Contribute to the development and implementation of group finance accounting systems, policies and procedures. Support the division through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting of financial data, verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy.
Responsibilities Information Processing
- Capture and process all financial information on the general ledger to ensure that profitability of business is maintained, record status of liabilities and assets and to report on capex.
Statutory Fulfilment
- Payment of VAT; SARS and other statutory requirements to ensure compliance to statute.
- Reconcile the general ledger to report on profit and loss.
Payments
- Approve and release payments to suppliers ensuring that invoices appear on statements and contain correct regulatory information.
Reconciliations
- Complete monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations. Raise queries where accounts do not balance and ensure compliance with MRPG Reporting requirements.
- Supervisory responsibility for creditors & cash book teams.
Budget
- Assist in preparation of annual budget submission. Eg. Department budgets review & capture.
General administration
- Management of motor vehicle fleet renewals.
- Loading monthly sales budgets.
- Other general admin required within the division from time to time.
Team supervision
- Team supervisor for creditors & cash book teams.
- Day to day staff management for 4 associates.
- Work closely with Risk & Operations team to ensure cash is well managed
- Work with Merch & DC team to resolve any PO, GRN & supplier related queries that need resolution.
Qualifications Education:
- BCom or equivalent accounting degree
Experience
- 3 - 5 years' experience across financial accounting, budgets, and team supervision.
Knowledge & Attributes
- Advanced Microsoft office word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook, Internal Systems
- Retail Knowledge
