• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field • Minimum 5 years relevant accounting experience • Strong month-end, reconciliation and management reporting experience • Experience managing a broad accounting function independently • Strong understanding of South African VAT, SARS and statutory requirements • Good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Sage Pastel • Strong Microsoft Excel skills • Excellent attention to detail • The ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to investigate discrepancies • Good communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance teams The following would be beneficial:
• Experience with multi-currency transactions and foreign supplier payments • Experience with customer deposits, refunds, supplier prepayments and margin reporting • Experience improving finance processes, reconciliations and internal controls DUTIES
• Manage the day-to-day accounting function for the company group • Own the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, provisions and reconciliations • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports • Perform bank, supplier, customer and balance sheet reconciliations • Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records • Support SARS submissions, VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance requirements • Assist with cash flow reporting, supplier payment planning, budgeting and forecasting • Improve accounting processes, internal controls and reporting workflows Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
