This high-visibility position offers you the opportunity to influence major transformation initiatives across ERP, procurement, and financial consolidation platforms.
What you'll do
- As a Senior Analyst Finance Systems Implementation based in Johannesburg, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around acting as the vital link between finance teams, IT departments, and external implementation partners.
- Act as the main liaison between internal IT teams, external implementation partners, and finance stakeholders throughout ERP, procurement, consolidation, and related system projects.
- Convert finance business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for IT teams and implementation partners.
- Review solution designs, integration proposals, and data models to ensure alignment with finance processes, identifying risks or gaps before production.
- Facilitate stakeholder decisions by balancing technical feasibility with business requirements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the technical architecture, including modules, master data structures, and system integrations.
- Map end-to-end data flows across platforms e.g., procurement to ERP, ERP to consolidation to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Collaborate with IT on integration design APIs, interfaces, batch/real-time flows without direct responsibility for coding or configuration.
- Support testing by defining business scenarios, validating results, and coordinating user acceptance testing.
- Ensure all documentation, process flows, data dictionaries, integration maps, and functional specs, is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
- Track project milestones, risks, and dependencies; escalate issues impacting timelines or data quality; assist with post-go-live support and continuous improvement efforts..
What you bring
- To excel as a Senior Analyst Finance Systems Implementation you will bring proven experience from previous finance systems projects, ideally spanning ERP implementations or financial consolidation initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology/Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 yearsof hands-on experience with finance systems implementation projects ERP, Procurement, or Financial Consolidation, including at least one full project phase such as requirements gathering or deployment.
- Proven ability to act as a liaison between finance teams, IT departments, and external implementation partners during system projects.
- Strong knowledge of core finance processes like record-to-report, procure-to-pay, financial consolidation, and reporting within ERP/procurement/consolidation systems.
- Ability to interpret system architecture diagrams, data models, and integration designs APIs/interfaces/middleware without direct involvement in building them.
- Skilled in tracing data flows across systems and identifying inconsistencies from source to reporting layers; working knowledge of SQL or similar query tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with agile or hybrid project delivery methods, including requirements gathering, functional specification writing, and UAT/test management.
- Experience reviewing integration/interface specifications to ensure technical solutions align with business needs is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills for bridging technical IT/partners and business finance users audiences; highly organized with attention to detail.
