Our client, a leading JSE-listed retail organisation , is seeking a driven and commercially minded Finance Manager to join their evolving finance team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified CA(SA) looking to combine technical accounting expertise with commercial engagement and operational ownership within a complex listed environment.

The successful candidate will play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the finance function while taking ownership of financial reporting, governance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting, including month-end and year-end reporting processes.

• Review and oversee financial information to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance.

• Support external audit processes and engage directly with auditors.

• Maintain strong financial controls, governance, and compliance with regulatory and JSE listing requirements.

• Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and participate in cross-functional projects.

• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team.

• Partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders across the business.

• Contribute to the ongoing evolution and development of the finance function.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified CA(SA) .

• Articles completed at one of the large audit firms.

• Minimum 2+ years' post-articles experience .

• Strong grounding in financial reporting, governance, internal controls, and professional accounting standards.

• Demonstrated experience managing people, processes, or finance workflows.

• Proven career progression with increasing responsibility post-articles.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Advantageous

• Experience within a JSE-listed company environment.

• Exposure to listed company clients during articles or post-articles experience.

• Retail or consumer goods industry experience.
