Finance Intern

Introduction

We are looking for a motivated recent graduate who would like to gain practical experience within a professional finance environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Finance team with

• Financial administration and data capturing

• Assist with allocating and recording customer payments

• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate differences

• Prepare and distribute customer statements

• Respond to customer account and payment queries

• Maintain accurate customer and financial records

• Assist with accounts receivable reports and ageing analyses

• Support month-end closing and audit requirements

• Assist with invoices, credit notes and supporting documentation

• Preparation of reports and supporting schedules

• Assisting with month-end activities

• Processing and maintaining accurate financial records

• General finance-related duties and projects

Desired Experience & Qualification

• A recently completed degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, Commerce or a closely related field

• Must be a recent graduate

• Strong numerical and analytical ability

• Good Microsoft Excel skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Willingness to learn and take responsibility

• Must be available to work from the Johannesburg office from Monday to Friday

Interested?

This is intended to be a 12-month internship. The successful candidate will initially be appointed for a fixed period of two months, during which performance will be assessed against clearly communicated standards and targets.

If the candidate successfully meets the required performance standards, the internship may be extended for an additional 10 months. The extension is subject to satisfactory performance and is not automatic.
