Introduction

Our client is a globally recognised commercial vehicle manufacturer with an established and growing presence in South Africa. Our client is seeking an experienced and fully accredited Finance & Insurance Manager to manage all vehicle finance and insurance activities across their light, medium and heavy duty truck portfolio .

This is a specialist role that requires full FAIS accreditation and the appropriate product-specific qualifications to legally advise on and sell finance and insurance products in the South African commercial vehicle market . If you are an accomplished F&I professional with a strong track record in truck or commercial vehicle finance, a thorough understanding of applicable legislation, and the relationship skills to work seamlessly with a sales team and financial institution partners - this is your opportunity.

Reporting to senior management, the Finance & Insurance Manager is responsible for structuring and presenting vehicle finance and insurance solutions to commercial vehicle customers across the light, medium and heavy duty truck range. You will be the primary F&I point of contact for the sales team and their customers, ensuring every transaction is handled compliantly, efficiently and in a manner that maximises customer satisfaction and business revenue. You will manage relationships with financial institutions and insurance providers, ensure full regulatory compliance under FAIS and the National Credit Act (NCA), and maintain meticulous records across all F&I transactions

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Structure, present and finalise vehicle finance and insurance solutions for commercial vehicle customers, covering the full light, medium and heavy duty truck product range.
  • Advise customers on available finance products (instalment sale, lease, fleet finance and related structures) and insurance options, ensuring all advice is compliant with FAIS and NCA requirements.
  • Liaise with financial institutions and insurance providers to secure optimal finance approvals and insurance terms on behalf of customers; manage the full deal submission and approval process.
  • Work closely with the vehicle sales team to support deal closure; provide F&I input at the earliest appropriate stage of the sales process to maximise conversion and profitability.
  • Present and sell approved Value Added Products (VAPs) including extended warranties, maintenance plans, credit life insurance and other ancillary products, in full compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure all F&I documentation is completed accurately and timeously; maintain comprehensive records in line with FAIS, NCA and company compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and report on F&I performance metrics including penetration rates, deal profitability and VAP attachment; identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay current on changes to financial and insurance regulations, product offerings and market conditions relevant to commercial vehicle finance in South Africa.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Must be a Fit and Proper person as defined under the FAIS Act; registered as a Representative or Key Individual with a licensed Financial Services Provider (FSP). Full RE5 certificate required; RE1 advantageous.
  • Must hold the required NQF-aligned product-specific qualifications to legally advise on and sell vehicle finance and insurance products across light, medium and heavy duty trucks in South Africa, in compliance with FSCA requirements.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven F&I management experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle sector; specific experience with trucks (light, medium and/or heavy duty) is strongly preferred.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the National Credit Act (NCA) and its application to vehicle finance transactions, including credit agreements, affordability assessments and disclosure requirements.
  • Established working relationships with vehicle finance providers (WesBank, Absa, Standard Bank, Nedbank or similar); ability to negotiate favourable finance terms and manage the full approval process.
  • Solid understanding of the light, medium and heavy duty truck market in South Africa, including vehicle specifications, use cases and customer finance needs.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, commerce or a related field advantageous. FAIS and NCA compliance qualifications are non-negotiable.
