Job Purpose

  • We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Finance & Insurance F&I Manager to join our dealership network in Cape Town Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all finance and insurance processes relating to vehicle sales while ensuring full compliance with South African legislation, OEM standards, and dealership policies.
  • The F&I Manager plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service, structuring finance solutions, maximising dealership profitability, and maintaining strong relationships with finance houses and insurance providers.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Insurance Sales

  • Facilitate vehicle finance applications through approved financial institutions.
  • Present finance and insurance solutions tailored to customers' needs.

Promote and sell value-added products VAPs, including

  • Extended warranties
  • Service and maintenance plans
  • Tyre and rim insurance
  • Scratch and dent cover
  • Credit life insurance
  • Asset protection products
  • Tracking and telematics products
  • Other approved dealership products
  • Maximise F&I gross profit while maintaining ethical sales practices.

Customer Experience

  • Meet customers to discuss finance and insurance options.
  • Clearly explain finance agreements, costs, interest rates, and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure customers understand all products before signing agreements.
  • Deliver a professional and compliant customer experience.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with

  • Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services FAIS Act
  • National Credit Act NCA
  • Protection of Personal Information Act POPIA
  • Financial Intelligence Centre Act FICA
  • Consumer Protection Act CPA
  • Treating Customers Fairly TCF principles
  • OEM standards and dealership policies
  • FSCA regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all compliance files are audit-ready.

Administration

  • Prepare finance documentation accurately and timeously.
  • Submit finance applications electronically.
  • Obtain customer signatures on all legal documentation.
  • Verify supporting documents.
  • Ensure vehicle registration and licensing documentation is completed correctly.
  • Monitor deal progress from approval through to vehicle delivery.
  • Manage funding processes with banks and finance houses.

Relationship Management

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with

  • Major banks and finance houses
  • Insurance providers
  • OEM representatives
  • Sales Managers
  • Sales Executives
  • Dealer Principal
  • Customers

Minimum Requirements

  • Understanding of the compliance governing the retail industry would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the NCA, CRA, FAIS, FICA.
  • Accredited by the FSP and mandated to perform NCA functions before s13 mandate
  • Possess the relevant Continuous Professional Development points within the stipulated time-frames
  • Valid South African driver's licence

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Matric
  • Credit Management Diploma would be advantageous
  • In addition, a Regulatory Exam, NC Accreditation, Retail or Short-Term Insurance Qualification with minimum 120 credits.

Experience

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role with a customer services focus within the Automotive Retail Industry or Banking environment.
  • Proven track record in achieving finance and insurance targets.
  • Experience working with major South African finance houses.
  • Knowledge of OEM dealership systems and processes.
