Finance Graduate

Introduction

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Graduate to join their finance team. This opportunity is suited to a recent BCom graduate looking to gain practical experience and build a strong foundation across various financial and accounting functions.

The successful candidate will support the finance department with reconciliations, financial administration, reporting, accounts processing, and month-end activities while gaining practical exposure to a professional finance environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day finance and accounting activities

• Capture and process financial transactions accurately

• Assist with bank, creditor, debtor, and general ledger reconciliations

• Process and maintain financial records and supporting documentation

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Support month-end and year-end financial processes

• Assist with journal processing and general ledger maintenance

• Prepare financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation

• Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis

• Support inventory and stock reconciliations where applicable

• Assist with fixed asset administration

• Prepare documentation required for internal and external audits

• Investigate and resolve basic financial discrepancies

• Liaise with internal departments regarding finance-related queries

• Maintain accurate filing and document control

• Assist the finance team with ad hoc duties and projects as required

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related financial discipline – Essential

• Recent graduate or up to 2 years' relevant finance/accounting experience

• Sound understanding of basic accounting and financial principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel

• Strong numerical and analytical ability

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Good written and verbal communication skills

Advantageous

• Previous finance internship, graduate programme, vacation work, or practical accounting experience

• Exposure to ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, SYSPRO, Sage, Pastel, or similar

• Experience with reconciliations, financial reporting, or accounts administration

• Exposure to a manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or other commercial environment
