Introduction

Join a Leading Retail Finance Team

Our client is seeking a Finance Clerk to join their finance team in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and reliable finance professional who can work well within a team, meet deadlines, resolve queries efficiently, and maintain accurate financial records.

The successful candidate will be responsible for validating supplier invoices, supporting monthly reconciliations, processing adjustments, and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and in line with agreed payment terms.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Validate specified suppliers' invoices for payment.

• Perform monthly supplier reconciliations.

• Process daily stock imports into the Oracle Financial system.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and warehouse teams.

• Resolve daily creditor queries and follow up on the query resolution register.

• Prepare early payment calculations.

• Process credit and debit adjustment vouchers.

• Process stock adjustments accurately and timeously.

• Liaise with buyers and planners regarding cost price variances.

• Ensure supplier payments are processed accurately and according to agreed payment terms.

• Maintain accurate documentation and financial records.

• Support the broader finance team with administrative and reconciliation activities.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Matric, with Accounting being advantageous.

• Basic understanding of accounts payable and creditor reconciliation processes.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a team.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Advantageous

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts payable environment.

• Retail industry experience.

• Experience working with Oracle Financials.

• Experience resolving supplier and creditor queries.
