A well-established boutique financial services/ Fund Manager business is looking for a Finance & Operations Analyst to join its close-knit team.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is accurate, dependable and highly organised , with a genuine interest in both finance and operational processes. The successful candidate will work across the finance, operations and investment functions, gaining broad exposure within a small and experienced team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Finance & Management Accounting
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end processes, budgeting and cash flow management.
- Manage debtor and creditor processes.
- Prepare and issue client invoices and monitor outstanding balances.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Provide variance analysis and supporting commentary.
Fund / Investment Accounting
- Assist with fund accounting processes, including NAV reviews and reconciliations.
- Reconcile cash, investment positions and fee calculations.
- Review reporting received from external administrators and custodians.
- Liaise with third-party service providers to resolve queries and discrepancies.
Operations
- Process and verify trade allocations across portfolios.
- Perform routine operational reconciliations and data integrity checks.
- Provide day-to-day support to the investment and operations teams.
- Assist with monthly investment performance reporting.
- Maintain and improve operational procedures, controls and documentation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BCom degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years' relevant experience in finance, accounting and/or operations.
- Fund accounting experience will be highly advantageous.
- Experience within asset management, financial services or another regulated environment is preferred.
- Strong Excel and financial reconciliation skills.
- Exposure to Python, SQL or similar data/automation tools would be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team.
