Finance Accountant

We are looking for a Group Finance Accountant to support the financial management and reporting requirements of these entities. This hands-on role offers meaningful ownership across financial operations, management accounting, group reporting, budgeting, forecasting and process improvement. Working closely with the Financial Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end finance function for a portfolio of entities, ensuring accurate and useful financial information is available when needed.

You will work closely with the Financial Manager in a small, close-knit Finance team that is warm, supportive and committed to delivering excellent work to a consistently high standard.

Duties & Responsibilities

Once established in the role, you will independently manage month-end reporting for your allocated entities, from the underlying accounting records through to the preparation of management accounts.

Your responsibilities will include

• Owning the end-to-end accounting function for allocated entities, from transaction processing and cashbook entries through to management accounts.

• Managing month-end reporting, reconciliations, supporting schedules and financial records to ensure reliable reporting.

• Investigating variances, discrepancies and accounting issues, and driving them through to resolution.

• Supporting group reporting, consolidations, budgeting, forecasting and audit requirements.

• Contributing to process improvements, financial controls, reporting enhancements and finance system initiatives.

• Working with stakeholders across the business to ensure financial information is complete, clear and meaningful.

What we are looking for

Qualifications

• Matric

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (preferred)

• ICB Financial Accounting, SAIBA, CIMA (Operational Level) or a similar financial qualification (preferred)

Experience and Technical Skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Strong financial systems aptitude and confidence working with accounting technology

• Experience using Sage or similar accounting software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams and SharePoint

• Proven ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly

• Exposure to reporting tools, automation solutions or business intelligence platforms would be advantageous
