Field Service Technician

Job Description

• A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join their team. This role is suited to a qualified mechanic with strong experience servicing and maintaining forklifts and material-handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance and repairs on forklifts and related equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics and manufacturer specifications.
• Utilise appropriate diagnostic equipment and specialised tools.
• Ensure all work is completed according to required safety and quality standards.
• Provide professional technical support and service to customers.
• Maintain accurate work standards while working independently and managing scheduled tasks.
• Liaise with Parts, Rental, Service and Sales teams to ensure effective service delivery.
• Participate in standby duties and overtime when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Diesel and/or Petrol Mechanic with forklift/material-handling equipment experience, or Qualified Forklift Mechanic.
• 3–5 years' experience in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance relating to forklifts.
• Strong knowledge of auto-electrical systems.
• Trade Test Certificate – Mechanic.
• Valid forklift operator licence.
• Code 8 driver's licence.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams and technical documentation.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
• Physically fit and able to perform the requirements of a hands-on field service role.
• Willingness to work standby and overtime when required.
