FET English HL Teacher

Role Purpose

• As a Senior / FET Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, organising, and delivering high-quality instructional programmes within the Snr/FET phase. You will guide and inspire students to reach their full academic potential while equipping them with the skills needed for life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Delivery

• Deliver engaging, future-focused lessons that inspire and challenge students
• Apply innovative teaching strategies aligned with IEB standards
• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment

Assessment & Reporting

• Design, implement, and evaluate assessments aligned with curriculum standards
• Provide meaningful, timely feedback to students and parents
• Maintain accurate academic records and reporting

Student Development

• Manage student behaviour constructively and consistently
• Foster a positive learning culture grounded in respect and accountability
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth

Collaboration & Communication

• Build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community
• Communicate openly, professionally, and respectfully with all stakeholders
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture

Administration & Compliance

• Complete required administrative tasks efficiently and accurately
• Uphold all school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards

Brand Ambassadorship

• Represent Abbotts High School and Advtech with professionalism and integrity
• Actively contribute to maintaining and enhancing the school's reputation

Qualifications & Experience

• A relevant degree NQF Level 7 with PGCE or B.Ed FET phase, with subject specialisation IEB preferred
• Valid SACE registration and police clearance essential
• 2–5 years' teaching experience, including FET subject specialisation
• Strong digital literacy and confidence using educational technology
• First Aid certification advantageous
