Role Overview
Festive, one of South African's leading integrated poultry producers within the Astral Group is seeking a Plant Engineer to oversee all mechanical, electrical and facility systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime, strict food safety compliance and efficient high-volume production.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for
- Continuous optimization and analyses of the Processing plant preventative maintenance system.
- Critical problem solving and utilization of key asset care techniques OEM RCM, 5Why and RCA processes.
- Assisting with preventative scheduling, task lists, reports and analyses to optimize plant uptime.
- Ensure effective utilization of the Pragma preventative maintenance and material management systems for all maintenance activities.
- Develop asset care plans for critical equipment to achieve preventative maintenance
- Define and implement engineering standards, maintenance strategies and asset integrity philosophies for property, plant, and equipment
- Contract management, planning, control and implementation of capital projects.
- Assisting in compiling of annual maintenance budget and control.
- Implementation & maintenance of sustainable projects on site that will improve plant running costs per unit.
- Daily interaction with various departmental & inter-group role players at management level.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements
- Must have a technical tertiary qualification preferably in the mechanical and/or electrical field with a “Government Certificate of Competency for Factories” or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Experience in a Poultry Plant or FMCG plant will be to your advantage.
- Must be able to work overtime & on weekends when necessary.
- Knowledge of the 20 Keys Program will be an added advantage.
