Festive, one of South Africa's leading integrated poultry producers within the Astral Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for their engineering commercial division.The role will focus on continuous, safe and efficient operation of all electrical, automated on system to maximise throughput.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for
- Management of the site’s electrical reticulation and automation of the plant.
- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to the electrical standard.
- Maintaining electrical equipment and mentoring Artisans and Foremen.
- Identify training requirements and provide technical training for operations, engineering, and maintenance staff in the use of new and existing automation systems.
- Provide technical support for new and existing automation systems associated with the site projects.
- Understand site requirements for HMI/ communication interface, networking and create specifications based on these requirements
- Compliance with all management and safety programs within the company (i.e. 20 Keys, Planned maintenance, OHSACT, Meat Safety).
- Strive to achieve Engineering downtime of 3%.
- Perform standby duties.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements
- BSc Electrical Engineering degree or a BTech or Diploma.
- ECSA registration as Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist Engineer (or working towards registration).
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in an FMCG environment Post qualification.
- Be familiar with intelligent motor starters.
- Computer literate.
- Supervisory management training is advantageous.
- Experience in the Food industry will be advantageous.
- Must have own transport.
