Festive, a division of Astral Operations Limited, aims to provide Apprentices with the opportunity to obtain training, gain knowledge and acquire practical experience in transitioning from student to employee for a fixed period of thirty six (36) months at our Processing Plant in Olifantsfontein.
The company currently has vacancies for Apprenticeships at our operations in Festive for the following:
- Millwrights
- Electricians
- Fitters
The ideal candidates must be young, energetic, qualified N3 students with a passion to become an artisan.
The key performance areas of this Apprenticeship position are
- Participate in the formal training plan for the apprenticeship;
- Perform duties required and make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in the training plan;
- As instructed, undertake and attend any training or assessment related to the training plan;
- Keep the training record (logbook) in possession, and produce it to the employer and/or training organisation, when requested;
- Acknowledge that all workplace instructions and other material that comes into the apprentice's possession, as a result of the training, remains the property of the employer;
- Maintain, repair & optimise plant & associated devices under guidance of qualified Artisans / Technicians;
- Obey all workplace health and safety (including dress and equipment) and code of conduct workplace rules;
- The successful candidate will be required to enter a formal learnership agreement with the company and the AgriSETA.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements
- Obtained Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science, or Technical Matric;
- National Technical Certificate – N3 or higher in the Millwright engineering discipline.
- He/ she must be ambitious and dedicated, making full use of the opportunities the industry has to offer.
- Must be a team player.
- High energy level and action orientated.
- Mental alertness, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Pay attention to detail.
- Conceptual skills.
- Must be in possession of a tool box including tools.
