Description

Constantia Fertiliser, part of the TWK Group, has the following vacancy available: Fertiliser Sales Agent at Umlaas, KwaZulu-Natal.

Job Summary This role involves promoting and selling fertiliser products to agricultural customers by providing expert product recommendations and customised fertiliser solutions and identify new business opportunities, support customers throughout the sales process, and ensure the successful implementation of fertiliser programmes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Developing a deep understanding of various fertiliser products, their compositions, benefits, and application methods
• Utilising fertiliser expertise to recommend suitable products and application strategies that align with the customer’s agricultural goals
• Coordinating fertiliser orders, ensuring accurate quantities and delivery schedules are met
• Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, addressing customer inquiries and concerns
• Maintaining positive business relationships to future sales
• Developing cost estimates and proposals for fertiliser programs tailored to customers crop needs and budgets
• Basic fertiliser programs (Wheat, Canola, Barley, Oats, Lupins, Luzern and Cover crops)
• Taking of soil and leaf samples
• Crop monitoring during the growing season

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric / Grade 12
• Relevant Tertiary qualification (sales, management, agriculture)
• 5 years’ experience in the fertiliser industry
• BASOS certificate (advantageous)
• Good negotiation skills
• Team player
• Good self-discipline
• Target and goal driver
• Computer literate
• Own transport
