Feature Analyst

Description

Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced Feature Analyst who is currently operating in a hands-on analysis role within an Agile delivery environment. The successful candidate will partner with Business Stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects, Engineers and Test Analysts to translate business objectives into well-defined Features, Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria that enable successful delivery of business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and document business, customer and operational requirements.
• Translate business needs into Features, Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
• Conduct impact, dependency, gap and process analysis.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagements and backlog refinement sessions.
• Support feature prioritisation and backlog management.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineering and Testing teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Validate that delivered solutions meet business objectives and customer needs.
• Identify opportunities for business process improvement and operational optimisation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis and delivery practices.

Essential Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in Feature Analysis, Functional Analysis, Systems Analysis or Business Analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Feature discovery and analysis
• Requirements elicitation
• Feature decomposition
• User Story creation
• Acceptance Criteria definition
• Backlog refinement
• Impact and dependency analysis
• Stakeholder facilitation

• Experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, Confluence and related delivery tools.
• Financial Services experience advantageous.

Highly Advantageous Experience

• Business Process Analysis and Process Mapping.
• Process Re-engineering and Operational Optimisation initiatives.
• Customer Journey Mapping and Process Improvement.
• Experience supporting automation, digitisation or transformation initiatives where existing processes were redesigned to improve customer experience, efficiency, risk management or operational effectiveness.

Critical Requirements

Cape Town Based Candidates must be permanently based in Cape Town and available for onsite workshops and stakeholder engagements when required.

Current Hands-On Feature Analyst We are specifically seeking candidates who are currently performing Feature Analysis activities as part of their day-to-day responsibilities. Candidates should be able to demonstrate recent experience in:

• Feature discovery and refinement
• User Story creation
• Acceptance Criteria definition
• Stakeholder workshops
• Backlog refinement
• Requirement clarification with Engineering teams

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Commerce, Engineering or related discipline.
• Agile, Scrum, SAFe, CBAP, CCBA or similar certifications advantageous.
