Role Purpose

  • The FATCA & CRS Administrator will be responsible for the governance, compliance, reporting, and ongoing administration of the Group's obligations under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act FATCA and the OECD Common Reporting Standard CRS.
  • The role requires a strong technical understanding of FATCA and CRS regulations, client due diligence requirements, entity classifications, GIIN registration processes, and regulatory reporting obligations in various jurisdictions.
  • The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert within the Group and ensure that all entities remain compliant with applicable local and international tax regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Law, or a related field.

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a FATCA and/or CRS compliance environment.
  • Experience performing FATCA and CRS due diligence reviews.
  • Experience with client onboarding and remediation processes.
  • Experience with entity classification under FATCA and CRS.
  • Experience with FATCA and CRS reporting requirements.
  • Experience navigating and administering the IRS FATCA Registration Portal.
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining GIIN registrations.

Advantageous

  • Experience within a financial services, banking, insurance, investment management, or multinational corporate environment.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and reviews.
  • Experience developing governance and compliance frameworks.

Essential Technical Knowledge

  • Advanced technical knowledge of FATCA regulations.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of the OECD Common Reporting Standard CRS.
  • Strong understanding of FATCA and CRS due diligence requirements.
  • Knowledge of onboarding requirements for individuals and entities.

Duties & Responsibilities

FATCA & CRS Governance

  • Maintain and enhance the Group's FATCA and CRS governance framework.
  • Ensure compliance with FATCA and CRS regulatory requirements across all relevant Group entities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess the impact on existing policies, procedures, and controls. Communicate and facilitate changes to business units in the Group, and monitor compliance with new regulations.
  • Monitor FATCA and CRS policies, procedures, and operational guidance.
  • Participate in internal governance forums and provide compliance updates to stakeholders.

Due Diligence Oversight

  • Monitor and conduct audits on FATCA and CRS due diligence processes for new client onboarding.
  • Monitor, review and audit self-certification documentation and supporting evidence.
  • Ensure appropriate due diligence processes are performed when there is a change in circumstances for existing clients.
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance risks and remediation requirements.
  • Provide guidance to business units on client classification and documentation requirements.

Entity Classification

  • Perform FATCA entity classifications for Group entities.
  • Perform CRS entity classifications for Group entities.
  • Determine the tax status of entities, including Financial Institutions, Active Non-Financial Entities NFEs, Passive NFEs, and other applicable classifications.
  • Maintain accurate classifications and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure classification reviews are performed periodically and when material changes occur.

FATCA Registration and GIIN Administration

  • Manage FATCA registrations with the Internal Revenue Service IRS.
  • Apply for and maintain Global Intermediary Identification Numbers GIINs for relevant Group entities.
  • Act as the Group's subject matter expert on IRS FATCA registration requirements.
  • Navigate and administer activities within the IRS FATCA Registration Portal.
  • Monitor GIIN renewals, updates, and changes to registered entity information.

Regulatory Reporting

  • Coordinate the annual FATCA and CRS reporting process.
  • Review data quality and completeness prior to submission.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, business units, compliance teams, and external service providers to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Maintain reporting schedules and ensure all regulatory deadlines are met.
  • Support responses to regulator, tax authority, and audit requests.

Advisory and Training

  • Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders across the Group.
  • Deliver FATCA and CRS awareness training where required.
  • Support implementation of regulatory changes and remediation projects.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections.
