Start free — we apply for you →- Our client in the Western Cape is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of fruit production, with a focus on pome fruit
Minimum requirements
- Matric certificate Grade 12 is essential
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture degree or diploma, or completion of well-recognised agricultural courses
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Farm Manager, preferably in large-scale pome fruit production – apples, pears, or at least citrus 100Ha
- Practical knowledge of:
- Fertilization programs and nutrient management
- Crop protection strategies and pest control
- Irrigation systems and scheduling
- Familiarity with SEDEX/SMETA audits, Global G.A.P. standards, and workforce compliance management
- Experience in labour audits and good understanding of labour legislation basic knowledge of labour law is essential
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive productivity
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and implement effective problem-solving strategies
- Proficient in basic Microsoft Excel data capturing, productivity tracking, and reporting
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English spoken and written
- A passion for rural living and working in a farm environment
