DEAN'S OFFICE

FACULTY MANAGER (Post Level 5)

The University of Pretoria is one of the leading research-intensive universities in South Africa. We are a diverse and dynamic community of staff and students committed to excellence, diversity, sustainability, and making a difference.

The University of Pretoria's commitment to quality makes us one of the top research Universities in the country and gives us a competitive advantage in international science and technology development.

OVERVIEW OF THE FACULTY

The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) is the first faculty of its kind in Africa to be awarded the prestigious international business education accreditation by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. In South Africa, only three business schools are accredited, including UP's Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). The EMS Faculty now joins a list of only nine AACSB-accredited institutions in Africa. The management philosophy of the Faculty is to foster strong, participative, and transparent leadership grounded in sound principles of corporate governance. An appropriate structure was developed to support this philosophy and to assist the Dean and the Faculty committees in decision-making, supervision, and control. The Faculty has nine departments specialising in financial sciences, economic sciences, management sciences, and public management and administration.
