- 10 years experience in steel fabrication experience
- 5 years experience in plant or workshop leadership role
- Qualifications
- Boilermaking
- Production management
- Track record of at least 5 years managing shop floor operations within heavy engineering, structural steel, or metal components manufacturing
- Compliance knowledge: Familiarity with South African OHS Act and quality management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex structural drawings, plus familiarity with cutting, press break and welding processes.
- Knowledge of Tekla Steel Detailing Software is a plus.
- Strong labour relations, team leadership, and conflict resolution capabilities suited to diverse workshop environments.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, workflow optimization, bottleneck analysis, and deadline-driven resource allocation.
