Factory Manager - Shopfitting

Introduction

A leading luxury bespoke shopfitting and retail display manufacturer, delivering premium fixtures and installations for some of South Africa's most prestigious retail brands is looking for an experienced Factory Manager. We specialise in high-end joinery, metalwork, spray finishing, large-format digital printing, CNC machining, and complete retail fit-outs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility.

• Lead and develop production teams across carpentry, spray painting, CNC, assembly and finishing.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Plan production schedules and allocate labour effectively.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.

• Monitor factory performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations.

• Manage factory maintenance, equipment servicing, and operational efficiencies.

• Work closely with the Design, Procurement, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project execution.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and factory organisation.

• Foster a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing a manufacturing or production facility.

• Experience within shopfitting, cabinetry, joinery, furniture manufacturing, or related industries is highly advantageous.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles and production planning.

• Strong knowledge of quality control and workplace safety.

• Computer literate.
