Factory Manager

Introduction

Screen Graphics (Pty) Ltd is a well-established and growing manufacturing business specialising in digitally printed and fabricated branded products, including flags, gazebos, parasols, and custom event structures.

With a production team of approximately 90 employees across printing, sewing, assembly, fabrication, and dispatch, we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Factory Manager to take full ownership of our manufacturing environment and drive improved performance, efficiency, and operational discipline.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a results-driven manufacturing professional who can create structure, improve processes, and deliver measurable results within a fast-paced factory environment.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Factory Manager  to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of our manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate will lead production teams, improve operational efficiency, implement structured processes, and ensure consistent delivery of quality products on time.

This role requires a visible factory leader who is comfortable working on the factory floor, solving operational challenges, driving accountability, and implementing practical improvements that increase productivity and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Operations Management

• Take full ownership of factory operations and production performance

• Manage production activities across:

• Digital printing

• Dye sublimation printing

• UV printing

• Heat pressing

• Cutting

• Sewing

• Assembly

• Fabrication

• Dispatch

• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved

• Improve production flow, efficiency, and manufacturing output

• Manage and optimise production scheduling using Experdyte

• Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks

• Reduce waste, rework, downtime, and unnecessary overtime

• Implement and manage KPI-driven production systems

Operational Control & Factory Discipline

• Establish and enforce production processes and operating standards

• Ensure departments operate according to defined systems and schedules

• Drive accountability at supervisor and operator level

• Address performance gaps and implement corrective actions

• Create a structured, disciplined, and high-performance factory environment

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs

• Implement practical process improvements

• Drive Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives

• Improve resource utilisation and production capacity

• Support the long-term growth and scalability of the manufacturing operation

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

• 8–10 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment

• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing factory operations in a leadership role

• Experience managing multi-department manufacturing teams of 50+ employees

• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, production workflows, and process optimisation

A proven track record in

• Improving factory output and efficiency

• Reducing waste, rework, and downtime

• Implementing systems and production discipline

• Stabilising and improving manufacturing operations

• Increasing throughput without unnecessary labour increases

Advantageous

• Experience in textiles, digital printing, signage, fabrication, or related manufacturing industries

• Lean Manufacturing certification

• Six Sigma certification

We are looking for someone who has successfully improved, stabilised, and scaled a manufacturing operation — not simply maintained one.
