Due to the continued growth and expansion of our company, Truewood Furniture is looking to fill a Factory Manager position.
We are looking for an eager individual looking for learning and growth who is excited about facing challenges and long term career prospects. The company will be expanding its production facilities and capacity, thus growth in the company is guaranteed, as based on performance.
The factory manager will be expected to take full responsibilty of furniture manufacturing and will be trained in both wood and upholstery manufacturing, while ensuring production targets are met , and ensuring the output of exceptional quality to our clients. Excellent communication skills are needed to communicate matters clearly and concisely to factory personnel, admin and production departments, and to senior management.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the full production lifecycle.
You'll be the operational backbone of our wood or upholstery manufacturion division, ensuring furniture is manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the standard our customers expect.
TrueWood operates 14 retail locations, and growing, across South Africa. This role has real scope: You are not just ensuring productrion leaves the factory door, you're building the manufacturing function, with the help of senior management, that supports a growing retail network.
Duties & Responsibilities
The factory manager will be expected to run their respective factory, while reporting to the COO, while meeting daily production targets, and ensuring the output of exceptional quality.
Responsibilities
Meeting daily production targets
The manager needs to esnure that daily production targets are met, while continuously assessing progress and identifing areas for improvement.
Employee Supervision
Managing and supervising production staff, assigning tasks, providing training, and addressing performance issues.
Communication and Collaboration
Maintaining clear communication with other departments, such as logistics,admin and sales, to ensure smooth production operations and meet customer requirements.
Inventory Management
Overseeing the management of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory to ensure efficient production flow.
Safety Management
Ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and addressing safety hazards. .
Cost Management
Monitoring and controlling production costs and identifying areas for cost reduction.
Quality Control
Establishing and enforcing quality control procedures and standards to ensure products meet the required specifications.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum requirements
- Matric
- 5-10 years of production experience in manufacturing/related industry.
- Highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
- No employment equity requirements. Any and all welcome to apply for the position.
- Microsoft office effeciency.
Package & Remuneration
R20 000 - R40 000
Based on experience. Bonus packages to be discussed as based on production targets and key quality and efficiency metrics.
