Key Responsibilities
- Manage the branch's operations and staff
- Ensure scrap metal is purchased at the correct grade and weight, and that all purchase and dispatch records are accurately maintained and reconciled
- Ensure full compliance with the Second-Hand Goods Act, including accurate recording of all information required under the Act
- Manage stock control, inventory accuracy and cash
- Lead the branch staff to meet daily operational and purchasing targets
- Manage staff discipline, timekeeping and attendance directly - including initiating and running disciplinary processes where required
- Maintain vigilance against theft, fraud, bribery and dishonesty, and escalate any suspected irregularities immediately to senior management
- Maintain strong customer relations and resolve customer complaints professionally
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly and monthly operational and financial reports for senior management
- Work closely with senior management and other branch managers to share best practice across sites
