Start free — we apply for you →We are looking for an experienced Factory Engineer to ensure efficient maintenance, manage engineering projects and drive high levels of plant efficiency, maximum production and minimal downtime.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards and ensuring the plant meets environmental and energy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage factory engineering projects, contractors and site work.
- Manage factory repairs, maintenance and construction programmes to ensure optimal plant uptime.
- Manage company assets and site-related engineering budgets.
- Manage safety, health and environmental programmes and ensure compliance with the OHS Act and relevant legislation.
- Manage plant, village and hostel utilities and infrastructure.
- Drive optimal efficiency, productivity and quality of plant and processes.
- Manage and develop maintenance teams and ensure effective performance.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and Quality Management Systems.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng/BSc Engineering in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years' post-graduate practical experience in the operation and maintenance of a plant with a power generation capacity greater than 3,000 kW , together with the required OSH Act examination, OR
- Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) – Factories .
- Minimum 6 years' practical experience in an industrial plant , including knowledge of boiler operations.
- Minimum 5 years' experience leading skilled maintenance teams .
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) .
- 3–5 years' experience with CAD or similar drawing software .
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
- 3–5 years' experience working with ERP software ; SYSPRO experience will be advantageous.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 .
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and internet navigation.
- Strong leadership qualities
