Start free — we apply for you →A leading FMCG distribution group seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of facilities, assets, and compliance across a high-performance distribution centre. Reporting to the General Manager and National Facilities Manager, this permanent middle-management role integrates people, place, and process to enhance operational productivity and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic facilities planning aligned to business objectives
Oversight of ammonia refrigeration plant (CAT A) and critical technical assets
Regulatory compliance (ASIB, fire systems, electrical, water treatment, OHS)
Asset management, preventative maintenance, and risk management
Project management of installations and upgrades
Supplier management, procurement compliance, and cost optimisation
Financial management of Opex/Capex budgets
Health, safety, sustainability, and ESG reporting
Requirements
Minimum 5 years facilities management experience in FMCG warehousing/distribution
Essential: Ammonia plant maintenance experience
Relevant qualification (SAFMA / UCT / A4FM / CFM); bachelors degree advantageous
SAQCC Cat A certification (safe handling & inspections); Cat B technician advantageous
Strong project management, compliance, and financial management skills
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
