To responsibly perform professional driver duties safely, accurately, and timeously for SPAR KZN. Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and secure operation of company vehicles and assets during deliveries.
- Verify all delivery documentation before, during, and after each delivery.
- Check goods with receiving staff and assist with offloading when required.
- Deliver goods to SPAR stores safely, accurately, and within scheduled timeframes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects to management.
- Operate vehicle equipment, including tail lifts, refrigerated units, tautliner curtains, shoring bars, and perform coupling and uncoupling procedures.
- Monitor the loading and offloading of stock to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Inspect store damages (claims), returns, assets, and recycling collected from stores, ensuring all loads are properly secured to prevent further damage.
- Ensure all relevant documentation is accurately completed, signed, and stamped.
- Return toll cards and refuel the truck after each delivery.
- Achieve Driver Performance and Housekeeping targets.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
