- Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with existing customers, distributors and installers.
- Conduct regular customer and distributor visits to ensure excellent service levels and identify further business opportunities.
- Conduct distributor audits and ensure products, displays, brochures and promotional material are accurately represented and kept up to date.
- Identify commercial sites such as residential complexes, business developments and office parks, and arrange meetings with relevant decision-makers.
- Present and promote technical access-control solutions to new and existing clients.
- Drive new business development and actively research and generate leads for new customers.
- Work towards and contribute to achieving monthly branch sales targets.
- Develop and implement distributor and area sales strategies to support business growth.
- Provide structured and detailed customer visit and call reports to the Branch Manager.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver product presentations and customer training sessions.
- Remain up to date with new and existing products, industry developments and competitor activity.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback relating to competitors, pricing, new products and marketing opportunities.
- Address product-related queries and customer concerns, ensuring that issues are escalated and resolved appropriately.
- Assist with internal sales activities, including order processing, customer queries and complaints when required.
- Ensure that existing and prospective customer information is accurate and maintained on the company database.
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, R&D and Technical teams to ensure effective customer service and communication.
- Assist the technical department with occasional site visits to assess product failures or incorrect installations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to effective inter-departmental communication.
- Support business development activities including marketing initiatives, promotions, training and geographical area expansion.
- Assist with ad-hoc operational requirements such as stock takes and deliveries when necessary.
- Maintain a professional image and ensure that all departments are represented positively to customers.
Minimum Requirements
• Matric / Grade 12 . • Basic knowledge and understanding of electronic and/or mechanical equipment . • 1–2 years' experience in a technical sales environment , preferably involving business development, customer engagement and negotiations. • Proven sales experience with a strong focus on customer service and relationship management. • Valid driver's licence . • Own reliable vehicle. • Computer literate, particularly in MS Office . • Exposure to a recognised ERP system. • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and communicate technical products and solutions. • Ability and confidence to conduct customer and product training.
