- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Identify and secure new business opportunities and grow existing accounts
- Understand customer requirements and provide suitable steel solutions
- Prepare, follow up and expedite quotations and orders
- Manage customer orders and capture information on SAP
- Achieve monthly sales and cash-sales targets
- Monitor customer accounts, stock holdings and profitability
- Source stocked and non-stocked steel products
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity and potential projects
- Provide regular sales activity and market reports
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 essential
- 3 to 5 years proven external sales experience in Carbon Steel essential
- Strong knowledge of the non-prime and secondary steel market
- Experience buying and trading from Mill Freestock lists
- Strong technical sales, communication and negotiation skills
- MS Office and email proficiency
- Self-disciplined, target-driven and commercially focused
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
