Estimator/Junior Quantity Surveyor

Introduction

A well-established Property Development Company based in the Johannesburg South area is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior QS or Estimator who has a good foundation in quantity surveying, estimating and construction costs and is looking to develop their career within a property development environment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be a driven and organised Junior QS / Estimator who is keen to build their experience within the property development sector.

You should have a sound understanding of basic QS and estimating principles, be comfortable working with numbers and quantities, and have a genuine interest in the construction and property development industry.

This role would suit someone who is looking for an opportunity where they can learn, develop and take on greater responsibility as their experience grows.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or related construction qualification.

• Previous experience in a Junior QS, Estimating or Costing role.

• Basic experience in quantity surveying and construction estimating .

• Ability to prepare and review estimates, quotations and costings .

• Experience with material take-offs and quantities .

• Good understanding of construction costs, materials and building processes.

• Ability to assist with budgets, cost comparisons and project costing .

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel .

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as within a small team.

• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn.

Package & Remuneration

WHAT'S ON OFFER

• Salary: R20,000 – R30,000 per month , depending on experience and qualifications.

• Full-time, permanent position.

• Johannesburg South location.
