Position Summary

The Logistics Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating and optimizing the movement of materials, equipment and personnel to support project requirements. The role ensures efficient, cost-effective and compliant logistics operations while improving supply chain performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics plans and strategies.

• Plan, coordinate and monitor movement of materials, equipment and personnel.

• Liaise with suppliers, transporters, freight forwarders and service providers.

• Prepare logistics budgets, monitor costs and identify savings opportunities.

• Ensure timely procurement, customs clearance and delivery of materials and equipment.

• Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock management.

• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company policies.

• Identify logistics risks and implement mitigation plans.

• Prepare logistics performance reports and KPIs.

• Support project teams to ensure smooth logistics execution.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.

• Minimum 8 years' experience in logistics, supply chain or transport management, preferably in EPC, infrastructure or construction.

• Knowledge of international freight, customs regulations and import/export processes.

• Experience in procurement coordination and inventory management.

• Proficiency in MS Office; ERP/logistics systems advantageous.

• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

• South African citizen or permanent resident.
